The carousel of educational lectures and screenings is in full swing, in that we have our guests that will be attending as the lecturers.

This time on Wednesday (April 8th) it will be the documentary filmmaker and sociologist Martin Kohout (1984). With this, the cycle named Contemporary Czech Documentary Film will begin. As the name suggests it will be dedicated to the analysis and development of Czech documentary film, its typical elements and the exceptions.

A screening of a thematic documentary film will be part of the lecture and it will be followed by a discussion concerning the piece of work.

The very next day, Thursday April 9th, the journalist and publicist David Macháček (1970) will come. He will speak about the laws of news reporting and current affairs coverage; he will demonstrate individual as well as the most commonly used journalism practices using examples from his rich experience. A comprehensive “glossary of terms” will be available to help the visitors get accustomed to today’s media world.

All lectures are open to the general public.

We look forward to seeing you!
